Below the fold a term used in web development to refer to content that is hidden until a user scrolls down the page. This type of content can be used for a variety of purposes, such as displaying ads or call-to-action buttons, or providing additional information about a topic.
Why is it called below the fold?
The term below the fold comes from the days of print journalism. When a newspaper was printed, the top half of the page was folded over the bottom half. The content that was visible when the paper was folded was called above the fold. The content that was hidden was called below the fold.
